About the Writer
I’m Spence Burton. I write songs about emotions, characters, things that catch my heart and imagination. For the genre-conscious, my songs are mostly Country and Sync (Pop). Thanks to Zoom, I have co-writers from Toronto to Sarasota, from New York to Oklahoma City. Myself, I live and write in Nashville, the best music city I’ve found. About the Music
I grew up on Memphis soul and British blues. I came of age as a fan of the Allman Brothers and Tom Petty. Old and In The Way got me into bluegrass the same way Dwight Yoakam brought me to Buck Owens and Bakersfield. I love EDM, modern pop and country and songs of faith. What really knocks me out is a great song, written and sung from the heart.
Who do I sound like? I’m not an artist; I try to bring the artist’s story and emotion to life in each song I write, so they can sound like their best self - in a new way.
